Where Creativity Meets Collective Power
Both Things Creative was born from a refusal to choose between beauty and resistance, art and action, tenderness and rage. It’s a space for makers who feel the urgency of this moment—and want their creative practice to be part of the fight.
We’re living in a time of rising fascism in the U.S., with the Trump movement threatening bodily autonomy, civil rights, education, queer and trans lives, reproductive freedom, and the very idea of a shared truth.
In the face of that, art is not a luxury. It is a tool. A protest. A lifeline.
Here, creativity isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence, process, and power.
It’s about staying human in dehumanizing times.
Through online classes, a member-supported community, and free resources for creative resistance, Both Things Creative offers a home for people who are ready to make meaning, build connection, and support each other through art, activism, and collective care.
I believe:
Creativity is a human right, not a privilege.
Art can be both healing and disruptive.
Mutual aid, accessibility, and justice must be built into every layer of our work.
You are allowed to be both broken-hearted and brilliant, hopeful and furious, soft and strong.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time, rebuilding your creative confidence, or looking for fellow resistors to make and grow with—you are welcome here.
About Me
Hi! I’m Zenna, an artist and passionate problem-solver deeply interested in the power of making things — and making things together.
In 2020, I left my corporate technical consulting position to partner full-time with my mother, an artist and small business owner.
As the world shut down and she could no longer teach and lecture in person, so we transitioned her business online and built an incredible creative community in the process.
Over the past four years, I’ve built my own creative practice, completed series and had the opportunity to show my work in galleries.
I’ve witnessed the power of connection, community, vulnerability and trusting the process.
I founded Both Things Creative on the idea that life is rarely black or white, but grey.
The more we learn, the more we realize how much we don’t know.
Accepting ourselves as we are is key to a peaceful life, yet we can still strive to change and grow each day.
The more we try to control things in life, the more we realize how little control we actually have.
I’m convinced that finding truth in these paradoxes is the key to more joy and creating more innovative, expressive, captivating art. I hope you’ll join me.
I live in Kyle, Texas with my husband Joshua, our three daughters Zira, Rowan and Petra, dog and two cats.
